Food always goes with any season especially during Christmas when different Christmas recipes bring families and friends altogether in one dining table. It is traditional to serve an extravagant meal at the Christmas eve in some countries which is why there are many traditional recipes that are specially made for Christmas all over the world; here are a few of them.

A simple gingerbread is a classic American Christmas recipe. Gingerbread recipe is quite easy with minimal ingredients and preparation time needed. Gingerbread has been associated with Christmas for years and now gingerbread decorating has become one of the usual activities for kids during the Christmas season. Not only that is very enjoyable for the little kids, the creativity and learning skills are also developed – what a fun way to enjoy Christmas season for kids.

Different varieties of Christmas cakes have also been made all over the world. Christmas cake is usually a special type of fruit cake made from mix of apples, raisins, and different fruits that are local in the country. It maybe prepared, decorated and served in different variations all over the world, the basic ingredients, which are yummy and nutritious mixed fruits, are all there. While for some countries like Japan, a Christmas cake is like a simple sponge cake topped with cream.

In Greece, they serve a sweet pastry called baklava. Baklava is basically made of phyllo dough layered with nuts mixture. It can be served as it is, with syrup or with pistachios and whipped cream. Baklava is also served in countries such as Turkey, Iran and Afghanistan.
