Fireworks have also been greatly associated with the celebration of New Year. There are many individuals who purchase even the most expensive fireworks as their way to literally start the year with a “bang!”. In some countries, even a week before the actual festivity, many people light fireworks as their way of saluting the passing of the old year and the coming of a new one. In other countries, they even hold fireworks display competitions in observance of New Year.

Resolutions are also a part of the New Year’s tradition. Making a list of negative things we want to change about ourselves and trying to aim how to achieve them are parts of the turning a new year. Starting anew with good hopes is the attitude wanted best when celebrating New Year.

Sometimes, other people who believe in the wills of luck and good fortune tend to obtain predictions in the coming year. In the Chinese calendar, a new year is usually symbolized by an animal that dictates what will be the possible occurrences in the coming year. Believing or not believing in this custom, what is important is we start a year with a positive outlook and a decision to better ourselves in the coming year.
